Clamp Stim Pulse Tab

Add pulse waveforms to your DAC clamp commands (e.g. voltage-command steps) and square pulses to your TTL commands (e.g. triggers for a camera).

Output Select – use the top drop-down menu to select the DAC or TTL output configuration you wish to edit. For example, “DAC_0” for DAC output configuration 0, as shown above, which will be a voltage-clamp command. Pulse Configurations for that output are displayed/edited below in the ListBox control.

Select “+” in the ListBox control to add a pulse configuration. Options are to add a single pulse or a train of pulses.

Select “–” in the ListBox control to delete or turn off a pulse configuration, or edit all pulse configurations via a table.

Click on an existing pulse configuration to edit it.

Pulses can be added to a single output wave (e.g. “wave=0”) or all output waves (wave=“all”).

From wave to wave, pulse parameters can be incremented by a delta value (e.g. “delta=2”).

User Pulses – when adding a pulse, select “other” to use your own pulse waveform. Use Igor’s Data Browser (Igor Menu/Data/Data Browser) to place your pulse waveform in the stimulus folder you are editing, which resides in the Stims Folder (root:NMStims). Your waveform should have the same time interval (tstep) as your Stimulus Protocol.

Plot – select this button to view your output waves. As default, all waves for the currently selected output will be displayed. To view each wave individually, uncheck All Waves and increment through your waves using the Wave SetVariable control on the top of the plot. To view all DAC and TTL outputs at the same time, check All Outputs.

Use “My” Waves – check if you want to use your own waves for a stimulus output. Use Igor’s Data Browser (Igor Menu/Data/Data Browser) to place your pulse waveform in the stimulus folder you are editing, which resides in the Stims Folder (root:NMStims). Your stim waves should begin with the prefix “MyDAC_” or “MyTTL_”, followed by the configuration number, followed by the wave number. For example, if you have three stimulus waves (waveN = 3) for DAC configuration 0, your output waves should be named MyDAC_0_0, MyDAC_0_1 and MyDAC_0_2. These waves should have timing dimensions (length and tstep) as defined on the Clamp Stim Time Tab.

See the Pulse Tab for more details about creating pulse configurations.
