How To Install

  • Download the latest version of NeuroMatic (see below).
  • Put NeuroMatic’s folder, or its shortcut, in the Igor Procedures folder. Start Igor Pro. NeuroMatic’s menu should appear within Igor’s top menu bar.
  • Begin by importing your data into the current NeuroMatic data folder (NeuroMatic > Import Waves; see Importing Data) or opening a previuosly saved NeuroMatic/Nclamp data file (NeuroMatic > Data Folder > Open).
  • To utilize progress windows in NeuroMatic, you need to download the ProgWin XOP by Jens Rumberg and Kevin Boyce and place it in the Igor Extensions folder. This XOP will allow you to cancel during the middle of analysis.
  • Edit and Save your NeuroMatic Configurations.
  • See Macros and MyTab to learn how to create your own data analysis functions, or how to create your own tab within NeuroMatic.

Old Experiments

  • Upon starting, NeuroMatic will automatically try to detect if an Igor experiment contains an older version of NeuroMatic. If it does, NeuroMatic will execute the Update NeuroMatic function.
  • If you encounter any problems opening an old Igor experiment that contains NeuroMatic, try updating NeuroMatic (NeuroMatic > Update NeuroMatic).

Removing Procedure Files

The number of Igor procedure files within NeuroMatic’s folder is getting larger, and are therefore taking up more memory when loaded into Igor. If you do not need their functionality, you can remove the following procedure files from NeuroMatic’s folder without error:

    NM_EvenTabt.ipf (Event Tab)

NM_Kolmogorov.ipf (Significant Difference / KS Test)

NM_Log.ipf (Nclamp Log File Notebook / Table Generator)

    NM_MyTab.ipf (MyTab Tab)

    NM_ReadAxograph.ipf (Import Axograph)

    NM_ReadPclamp.ipf (Import Pclamp)

    NM_SpikeTab.ipf (Spike Tab)

    NM_Stability.ipf (Stationarity / Stability test)

    NM_StatsTab.ipf (Stats Tab)

    NM_Stim.ipf (Nclamp Stim Reader)

    NM_PulseGen.ipf (Nclamp Pulse Generator)
